How we, as artists, perceive the world affects that which we create. Do we observe the world through rose-colored glasses? Do we use blinders? Do we dare take a look at the unfiltered reality of that which we experience or perceive? We may look through a microscope or telescope. We may peer through a wide lens, or perhaps instead focus on the smallest detail. We may interpret our vision using pencil, paintbrush, sewing or knitting needle, crochet hook, dye pot, loom or technology. Our work may be large or small, portrait or landscape, realistic or abstract, flat or 3 dimensional. In whatever approach we choose to take, the created work portrays a glimpse into the worldview by which we see. Do we like what we see through the lens or must we alter it? The work submitted will reflect one’s perception, as it is filtered through the unique lens of the artist.

ELIGIBILITY
This exhibition is open to partnerships in which artists can collaborate if they choose to do so; partnerships between fiber artists and photographers are an encouraged possibility, but not required for consideration.
Work submitted should be fiber in content or employ a fiber-related technique. Work can be two or three-dimensional and must be exhibit ready (including all mounting hardware). Work must be original and new, created within the past three years, and not exhibited previously at the PCA or within a 150-mile radius of Pittsburgh.
As this is a membership show, for those who submit work that gets accepted and are not yet members must agree to join the Fiberarts guild. If collaborating, only one of the artists is required to be a member of the guild. A discount on the membership fee is offered to first time members. A catalogue will be created to accompany the exhibition. Exhibitors are expected to transport their work to and from the galleries.
